1) Classes - For a semester long course, you can request a videoconferencing classroom from the registrar's office as part of the Request for Technology-Enhanced Classroom form. (NOTE: Requests of this nature typically need to be made 8 months in advance of class.) For other class related requests, please see items 2 and 3 below.


2) Meetings between GMU campuses/One time class requests- For meetings and one time instructional usage between GMU campuses, please fill out the GMU Internal Videoconferencing Request. Please allow for one week advance notice.  All reservations are based on availability of resources.


3) Meetings from GMU to Off-site Location/One time class requests - Please fill out the online form. Please allow for one week advance notice. All reservations are based on availability of resources.


4) Outside Parties - Outside parties wanting to use GMU facilities will need to go through Events Management.

* No Charge for technical support includes basic training on the system and on-call technical support. If technical staff is requested to be present in the room during the entire conference, there will be a $30/hour charge.

** Videoconferencing Classes are defined as classes that are scheduled through the Registrar’s Office and are approved by the Videoconferencing Office as semester long class. Other academic purposes (including standard class time), fall under the “GMU to GMU Meetings” or “GMU to Offsite” category.

*** Large scale events may incur additional technical support or room charges. Additional charges apply for International ISDN calls. Please contact the Videoconferencing Office for rates.

ISDN costs - Domestic long distance is $21.60/hr for 384kbps, local ISDN charges are $7.20/hr for 384kbps.  International rates will vary.

Example Charges:

1) Your department is located on all three campus and would like to videoconference a meeting between Fairfax, Arlington and Prince William, the total base cost would be $0.

Total Cost: $0


2) You are a GMU faculty or staff and need to videoconference to another university over IP network for 1.5 hours your cost would be:

$50 for equipment/pre-conference setup = $50
$30 for Technical Staffing x 1.5 hour = $45
Total Cost = $95


3) You are a GMU faculty or staff and need to videoconference to another university over ISDN for 2 hours your cost would be:

$50 for equipment/pre-conference setup= $50
$30/hr for Technical Staffing x 2 hour = $60
$21.60/hr for ISDN at 384kbps x 2 hour = $43.20
Total Cost = $153.20
